Survey

This is a short survey designed for you to be able to complete in less than 10 minutes, or you may take longer if you wish to add more detailed comments.

It is a key part of our first consultation on preparing a new Neighbourhood Plan for the Parish which will represent the various communities and places of our diverse parish - from the countryside to the neighbourhoods, hamlets and villages across the parish including Bray, Holyport, Harvest Hill, Dedworth West, Bray Wick (part), Water Oakley, Oakley Green, Moneyrow Green, Stud Green, Foxley Green, Touchen End, Braywoodside and Hawthorn Hill.

We need to hear from people who live and/or work in the parish. We are also interested to hear from those who visit.

Please choose the answers that matter most to you. There are no right or wrong answers. You may skip any question.

The survey will close on the 15th January 2027.

Q6. Thinking about the places you live, please tell us how important each of the following areas are to you.

A. Responding to Climate Change and Sustainable Development

Development within the Parish should be genuinely sustainable in form and location, resilient to a changing climate.

B. Maintaining the Countryside and Rural Setting

The rural setting and identity of the various villages and hamlets in Bray Parish should be protected.

C. Protecting Green Spaces

The Parish's most valued green spaces should remain available for recreation, wellbeing and wildlife.

D. Conserving Locally Valued Heritage

Buildings and spaces that are part of our heritage should be protected.

E. Achieving High Quality Design

New development should respect and respond to the local context and be inspired by the positive characteristics of the area in which it is located.

F. Increasing Safe and Sustainable Transport Options

Reliance on car travel should be reduced where possible, making public transport as well as walking and cycling safer and more convenient.

Q7. Do you have any comments about the possible focus areas?

Q8. Is there anything else that should be considered?

Q9. As part of the areas of focus, the Neighbourhood Plan can add a layer of policy protection for green spaces, views, local heritage and character features that are valued locally for their contribution to sense of place, character and community well-being.

You can tell us about any of these that are important to YOU below, and / or log them on the online map (so we can see the exact location of what you are identifying.

9.a Green Spaces

Think about spaces that are:
  • within or near a settlement, not miles away in open countryside;
  • are 'special' for some reason (this can be because of its beauty, historic significance, recreational value (including as a playing field), tranquillity or richness of its wildlife;
  • Not an 'extensive' tract of land - such as agricultural fields. Should be a distinct area with clear boundaries.

9.b Views

Tell us where the view is from (it needs to be from a publicly accessible location) and where it is looking towards. Why do you value it?

9.c Heritage and Character

Whether in Bray, Holyport, Harvest Hill, Moneyrow Green, Touchen End or any of the other places in our Parish, think about the buildings, walls, structures (old and new) etc that YOU think are distinctive to the local area and that you think are a positive feature.
